Reservations and Payment
When booking your holiday directly with us (Explore
Uganda Safaris), indicate your own specialized itinerary,
intended date of arrival and departure, number of
people traveling in your party, preferred sleeping
arrangements/accommodation – this will help
us provide you with a tour program to your satisfaction.
Gorilla tracking generally requires a minimum of 12
weeks advance reservation. Children under 12 years
are not allowed to trek chimpanzees and those under
15 years are not allowed to track the gorillas.
You will be required to make a 50% deposit 10 weeks
before the intended departure date of the tour or
at the time of booking, and the balance settled 30
days prior to commencement of the tour. Explore Uganda
Safaris will receipt your money, thereby confirming
your safari. If a reservation is made within 30 days
of departure, then you will be required to pay for
the safari in full at the time of confirmation.
All prices are quoted in US dollars and may be paid
in cash, or traveler’s cheques or by telegraphic
transfer to our account.
Cancellation and Refunds
Full refunds will be effected, provided cancellation
are made in writing 60 days prior to commencement
of safari, less cancellation fees levied by hotels,
lodges and banks. Generally there is a 50% charge
on cancellations made 14-35 days to commencement of
the tour, 75% charge on cancellations made 2 weeks
before commencement of the tour, and cancellations
made 48 hours to commencement of the tour will attract
100% charge. We reserve the right to deduct all expenses
incurred from any money paid. Please be advised that
Gorilla permits are non-refundable.
Alteration of Tour
Explore Uganda Safaris reserves the right to alter
the itinerary/arrangement, or to cancel the operation
of any scheduled tour should conditions necessitate
so. Likewise, it also reserves the right to decline
or accept any member of a tour. Please be advise that
failure to join a tour, join it after departure, or
leave prior to completion, does not attract any refunds.
Transportation
The mode for transport used will depend on the number
of clients and the areas to be visited. Fully trained
and experienced English speaking driver/guides are
provided.
Accommodation
Our accommodation is based on twin bedded rooms or
tents with private bathrooms where possible. Single
rooms may be available with the payment of a supplement
fee but cannot be guaranteed. Some accommodation facilities
may avail double beds upon request.
Pricing of Tours
The Prices quoted for luxury packages are inclusive
of all transportation as per the itinerary, accommodation,
park entrance/boat trip fees, permits (Gorilla) where
applicable, driver’s allowances and third party
insurance. The rates are not inclusive of accommodation
and meals on days outside the travel itinerary, traveler’s
insurance, local departure taxes, visa fees, gratuities,
alcoholic beverages, telephone bills, and any other
expenses of a personal nature.
Travel Insurance
You are advised to buy travel insurance through
your agent before traveling to Uganda. However, local
evacuation coverage is available in the unlikely event
of a medical emergency while out in the bush. Please
request this at the time of your booking.
Liability
All bookings are accepted on the specific condition
that Explore Uganda Safaris and its agents act only
as agents of the passengers in all matters relating
to hotel/Lodge accommodations, tours, transport, etc.
We shall not be liable for injury, delay, loss or
damage in any manner whatsoever. Explore Uganda Safaris
reserves the right to employ sub-contractors to carry
out all or part of the services agreed to be supplied.
Explore Uganda Safaris’ liability to passengers
carried in its vehicles is governed by the respective
laws of the country. All claims are subject to the
jurisdiction of the courts of the country in which
the cause of action arises. Finally, whilst great
care is undertaken to ensure safety of our clients’
baggage, Explore Uganda Safaris cannot be held responsible
for loss or damage to baggage.
Complaints/Refunds
If the Client has a complaint/refund query about any
aspect of his/her holiday it should be immediately
brought to the attention of Explore Uganda Safaris’
local representative traveling with the group. If
the problem is not resolved to the client’s
satisfaction then the client should express this displeasure
in writing to Explore Uganda Safaris not later than
30 days following completion of the safari. Failure
to do this would imply that no claim could be brought
against Explore Uganda Safaris. There will be no refund
on unutilized services.
Viewing Animals
It is a privilege to see animals in their natural
habitat, however kindly note/be advised that there
are no guarantees by us that you will see these animals.
A gorilla permit guarantees that you will be able
to track the gorillas to their location but does not
guarantee that the gorillas will be in plain sight.
